Mr. Braico completed his undergraduate studies at California State University Long Beach where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in Finance from the school of business and graduated as a distinguished member of the Dean’s Honor List .
Mr. Braico then completed his graduate studies at Southwestern University School of Law in 1992 where he graduated at the top of his class. He passed the California Bar Exam in 1993 on his first attempt.
He began his practice of law in Los Alamitos, California at a firm specializing in Personal Injury (both plaintiff and defendant) and Criminal Law. In 1995, Mr. Braico joined D’Antony & Associates where he began his specialization in the defense of medical malpractice and medical board claims. He immediately began handling numerous professional negligence files from inception through trial and became an equity partner in 1998.
Mr. Braico has over twenty-three years experience in defending both hospitals and individual physicians, personally handling nearly each and every medical malpractice claim against Coast Plaza Hospital in Norwalk, California as well as East Los Angeles Doctors Hospital and Memorial Hospital of Gardena, Beverly Hospital, and Hoag Hospital on multiple occasions. As the handling partner, Mr. Braico has been responsible for each and every aspect of the files through trial.
Over the past nineteen years Mr. Braico has personally handled over three hundred mediations, arbitrations, and jury trials as lead attorney. His published trial victories include Woomer v. Belville (Case No. 01CC09937, Verdict Search California Reporter, Trials Digest) and Davis v. Coast Plaza Doctor’s Hospital (Case No. VC040309, Trials Digest). Copies of these published reports can be provided upon request. Other trial victories include Stewart v. Coast Plaza Doctors Hospital (Case No. VC045848), Miller v Moses, M.D., and RSM v. Rampone (Case No. 07CC00244).
Over the past twenty -three years, Mr. Braico has been approved as lead trial attorney for medical malpractice and elder abuse claims with The SCPIE Companies, OPTIMA Healthcare, CNA, TIG, AIG, Norcal, and Darwin Select Insurance Company.
In 2004, Mr. Braico established the Law Offices of Nicholas R. Braico, A Professional Corporation, where he continues to specialize in the defense of medical malpractice claims.
